History: B&B (Bills and Bagby) Theatres
B&B Theatres is a family-owned and operated cinema chain in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Florida . Founded in 1924, B&B currently operates 200 screens, and is the 29th largest theater chain in the nation.
In 1924, Missourian Elmer Bills, Sr., founded Bills Theatres in Salisbury, Missouri. Elmer met his wife Johnnie when he purchased the Lyric Theatre in Salisbury, where she was the piano player for the silent films. Their son Elmer Bills, Jr. was born a few years later. In 1959, Elmer Jr. graduated from the University of Missouri and married one of his "popcorn girls", Amy. The two generations of Bills continued the expansion of the company, and welcomed the birth of Elmer Jr. and Amy's daughter, Bridget. Sterling Bagby went to work for Elmer Sr. as a concession clerk at age 10 in 1936. After serving a stint in World War II, Bagby returned to Missouri and married a ticket seller from Higbee, Pauline. Together, the Bagbys started the Bagby Traveling Picture Show. The Show was, in essence, a portable movie theater, and the Bagbys traveled along with the equipment (including seats, snack bar, film, and projectors) showing movies in schools and barns. Their company became a Kansas circuit of both drive-ins and "hardtop" indoor movie theaters. Sterling and Pauline have three children: Steve, Bob, and Paula.
The two companies formally merged after years of friendship and combined efforts as B&B (Bills and Bagby) Theatres on January 1, 1980. Just months earlier in 1979, Bob Bagby married Bridget Bills and cemented the convergence of the two companies. Sterling died in October 2000, and the remaining family run the National Association of Theatre Owners-recognized Midwest chain.

The Main Street address of Wildwood's Table Three might conjure images of a quaint small town, a Norman Rockwell fantasy of families bustling among storefront displays of hand-dipped chocolates, leather-bound books and toy trains. This, however, is 2010, and Wildwood's "Main Street" is a mixed-use development meant to evoke a small-town feel but still new enough that you can practically smell the drywall. While there are some flashes back to the past — the town opened a new city hall here — it's a thoroughly contemporary enterprise.

In 1952, Mr. Frank Wiegand opened the Smoke House Market in Chesterfield. The specialties of sausages, beef jerky and smoked bacon brought customers in from the metro area to the then farm community, especially on the weekends. Frank was behind the counter, ready with a wry or funny remark for 34 years, with his wife Claire working at his side.
Family members and friends chided Frank W. Wiegand in the early 1950s, when he became interested in property his friend Dr. McGuire showed him “way out” in the Gumbo Flats, then mostly cornfields, now known as the Chesterfield Valley. Mr. Wiegand saw the then Chesterfield Counrtyside Market as an opportunity for both business and home for his young family, and his dream of selling smoked meats.
The original business called the Chesterfield Mercantile Company was started by Andy and Lela Kroeger.
In 1986, Frank Wiegand retired from the business selling it to his daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Thom Sehnert. The couple began Annie Gunn’s Restaurant in an adjoining space in 1991, replacing the Potroast Inn where Frank had displayed his pool shooting skills for many years.
"The tradition continues."

The Lone Wolf Company
is now...
Wolfpack: What grandma didn't know about The Wolf...
We caught up with Ralph Pfremmer, proprietor of what is now called The Wolf Public House in West St. Louis County. The space being a work in progress since Pfremmer and partner, Kevin Miquelon, toyed with the idea of opening a small coffee house near their where they live, in the same building where the corporate headquarters of Pfoodman Holdings resides. Pfoodman Holdings owns the concept and is busy standardizing every element of the operation to expand in to new markets.
We, The Wolf's dedicated group of employees, wanted to clear the air on what's going on with the name change, the music scene, and the opening of additional restaurants. In recent weeks, The Wolf's gotten really busy; new menus, new focus on entertainment, things seem to be gaining momentum and we are having a blast. There is a bright future for all involved and we thought it fitting to share a bit.
________
Hey Ralph, what's up with the name change of Lone Wolf Coffee Company to The Wolf Public House?
Man, if I had a buck every time I have been asked that question in the past couple of months...I would go directly to a casino and bet on the house. That's just about all I'm gonna say about that.
Didn't the name have something to do with Castlewood State Park?
Yes, the original name, The Lone Wolf, came from a popular hiking and biking trail at Castlewood State Park down in the Meremac River Valley. I had an epiphany while riding my bike on the bluff, in a race, back in 98. You will have to do your homework to get the whole story or read it on the wall back by the back door. There had been other businesses under the same name down there, including a speakeasy back in the prohibition days. The Missouri Wildlife Rescue Center sits on the site where the original Lone Wolf Club was. Steve Apted also owned a joint down there for a bit, called Lone Wolf.
The pictures and the artifacts are unusual, is there a name for the decor package?
I tell people that my wife finally told me to get the stuff out of the basement that I had collected through the years. But to tell the truth, the storytelling is done through the hundreds of artifacts and photos, inspired by a health re-invention that changed my life. The decor is an expression and a celebration of the culture of active living. Lots of people donated stuff, the whole active living community got involved. I have enough for another restaurant, maybe two.
You guys (Pfoodman) create restaurant brands, what's in store for The Wolf concept?
Since we are so much more than a coffee house, the name change was needed in order to reflect who we really are. A strange turn of events led to us not being able to trademark the original name. It really wasn't our fault. We could have remained Lone Wolf at our single location, but since we plan on opening more "Wolf Public Houses," it was prudent to make the change now. We plan a gradual expansion for the next three years, then fairly aggressive growth through licensing and ultimately franchising.
How long has the restaurant been open?
We are in our third year and things have really picked up. I wouldn't have changed the way we have gone about developing what we have now. We opened in the height of the recession, in a snow storm with 6 inches of snow falling at dawn. It took a few hours for the first person to walk through the door. I was sitting there with a camera, sipping coffee for what felt like days trying to capture what would be the start of something great. Gradually we have proven that we are indeed different in our methods and in our ability to enhance the communities perception of what our concept is about.
Why live music?
Life really is one great big journey, and to me, music needs to be a part. Some friends and I started playing music in what is now that Blackhawk Room, where the stage and performance area is currently. Our main company, Pfoodman Holdings, used to have our offices there. The coffee house was on the other side. On Wednesday nights some cohorts of mine would show up and drink beer while a few of us jammed on guitars and harmonicas; blues music, for lack of any other place to play and any other music knowhow. People started hearing us on the other side and said "ya'll don't (blank) that bad". So we cut a door in the wall and moved the office down the street. Later we built a stage for what became the house band, Jimmyleg and the Browndogs. People came, we got a liquor license and the rest is history. We still play on Wednesday nights with Alvin Jett, one of St. Louis' best blues artists. We bring blues and roots artists in from all over, bringing culture to the county, instead of the county heading downtown.
So Jimmyleg is just another name like Pfoodman?
Uh, they are both nicknames, I suppose. But both of them function in areas of our business as brands, my personal brands used for marketing. You can find Pfoodman, which is very little about me and more about my team, active in university and senior living dining service business. Jimmyleg is a brand centered on The Wolf Public House; marketing music, booking and management of performing art venues and events. Jimmyleg is also my stage name, I sing an play in the band called Jimmyleg and the Browndogs.
Party on the Patio
Come out on Wednesdays for Lone Wolf's Patio on the Patio and enjoy $3 grilled brats and dogs starting at 5:00 p.m. Then stick around to hear the Brown Dog Blues Band starting at 6:30 p.m.

Since 1937, once nestled in the middle of cornfields stands the Smokehouse Market. An unpretentious structure, reminiscent of its days as the market for the surrounding Chesterfield area. The store now houses one of St. Louis's most celebrated restaurants, Annie Gunn's. Within its walls, Chef Lou Rook, III works his magic, creating irresistible cuisine with a sophisticated country life accent. In keeping with the concept of "Foods and wines inspired by the richness of country life", Chef Rook uses the best ingredients and the traditions that are most appropriate to them and imbues them with his own talented creative spin within the rhythm of the seasons.
Annie Gunn's is known for its' heartwarming, nurturing, robust dishes that encourages us through another gloomy St. Louis winter... April launches us into the opening rites of spring's tiny lettuces and vegetables from our local farmers. Summer celebrates the month of local produce exuberance with an abundance of tomatoes, corn and the produce that bespeaks "our" American Heartland. Autumn blesses us with bountiful fall contributions of fruits and vegetables that readies us for the upcoming holidays. December finds us as grateful hosts to numerous individual family, friends and office parties sharing Chef Rooks' enthusiasm for bringing exotic and familiar, delicate and homey, rich and refined favorites, discoveries and his inventions to our devoted and deserving clientele.
Come and enjoy!

It's almost Fall, and that means Pumpkins! If you live in St. Louis a trip to Rombach's in the fall is a MUST!!! This family puts on a Pumpkin Patch that is the best for 200+miles!!! Rombach's offers a pick your own in the fields, or pick a pumpkin from a pile of 100's of pumpkins!! But the tractor rides, the petting zoo, the Halloween characters dressed-up, the playground and other activities is what makes Rombachs a seasonal favorite to St. Louisans!! Also at Rombachs is a country store with fresh produce, jellies, jams, etc. Great prices at the country store and on the pumpkins! It is a afternoon of fun for the whole family!

This farm is the best place to take your kids to at Halloween. They have a hay ride, pony rides, and a lot of pumpkins to choose from. They are open during the spring and summer to. They sell fresh produce and preserves and jellies. During the fall season you can get hot apple cider as well as hot cocoa. They also sell hot food. They have all sorts of scary things to look at. I highly recommend this farm. My children love it.

Hermannhof's ten magnificent stone cellars and charming brick superstructure are among the 100 early Hermann buildings placed on the National Register of Historic places by the Federal government. Construction of a brewery/winery commenced in 1848 and was completed in 1852 in the French section of Hermann. Hermannhof's wine making was initially a small part of this very successful brewery. By 1904, the Hermann area produced 3 million gallons of wine, most of which were produced by small wine growers, many of whom utilized the facilities of Hermannhof. Prohibition began a forced long sleep for Hermann with the vineyards being uprooted and the equipment destroyed or sold to Europeans.
In 1974, the Hermannhof Cellars were purchased by the
Dierberg family and renewal began.
Today, all the cellars are utilized in premium wine production of 15,000 cases. These historic cellars contain casks made from white oak from the forests of France and Missouri. Here the wine continues to improve with age until it is dispatched to bring joy and sunshine to connoisseurs. Other cellars are employed in the making of sparkling wine in the original "méthode champenoise".
Grapes becoming wine is a natural process. Hermannhof is designed to preserve the grapes' natural character and quality. To make Hermannhof wines the most natural to exist, the winery not only utilizes the latest equipment and methods, but has provided funding, equipment, and personnel that have attained national recognition in original viticulture and enological research. This dedication to quality has enabled Hermannhof to become the first two-time winner of the Brown-Foreman Trophy for "Best New World White Wine", along with numerous other awards .
The Inn At Hermannhof and Haus Wineries (Inn & Gasthaus)
For a truly memorable experience, plan to join us for a historic vacation in Hermann Missouri. The Inn At Hermannhof features spacious, historically decorated suites with luxurious amenities. Accommodations include the Inn with 8 Suites and 6 Haus Wineries (gasthaus) with 20 Suites.
The Augusta region was nationally known for its wine during the 19th century, but Prohibition halted the state’s winemaking for decades. Then, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, a few pioneering souls began to refurbish the old vineyards and winery buildings.
One of these pioneers was Clayton Byers, who founded Montelle Vineyards in 1970. The winery was later purchased in 1998 by present owner and wine maker Tony Kooyumjian.
The secret to our success in producing outstanding wines is our vineyards. The Augusta area was chosen as the first viticultural area in the United States because of our unique soils, microclimate, and history, and it is our mission to produce wines that exemplify the uniqueness of this eleven square mile area.
Our philosophy is to farm our vineyards with a respect for the land and the environment. As a result, our wines are fresh, fragrant, focused, and well balanced, but most of all, express the uniqueness of our vineyards. It is this attention to detail that has enabled us to produce wines that are continuously recognized for their uniqueness and superior quality.
In addition to our wines, Montelle is also the first winery in Missouri with a distillery. We produce four kinds of brandy: apple, peach, cherry and grape (grappa).
Stepping into our tasting room will transform you into a complete state of relaxation. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will help you select the perfect wine for any occasion.
We also aspire to reveal the pleasures of pairing fine wine and food. Therefore, our Klondike Café offers fresh, high quality cuisine to complement our wines. Choose from a wide selection of gourmet wraps, salads, sandwiches and pizzas to be enjoyed on our vast deck, where it is easy to lose yourself in a magnificent view of the Missouri River Valley.
The next time you have a meeting, event or just a weekend outing to plan, please keep “Missouri’s most scenic winery” in mind.
Montelle Winery is the best! It has the best view of any winery that I've been to in Missouri, and I've been to quite a few. The selection is great, and might I add that they won the Governor's Cup in 2008 (best wine in Missouri) for their Dry Vignoles.

Attracting Cardinals to Your Back Yard
Understanding a few facts about cardinals can make the difference between whether you’re able to attract these birds–or not! Cardinals usually are the first birds to feed in the morning and the last to feed at night. Be sure to have your feeders filled during these times of day. And the type of feeder is important too. Cardinals like feeders with a roomy trays or open platform feeders. They like to be able to perch comfortably and won’t tolerate feeders that sway in the wind or are otherwise unstable, such as feeders with perches that are too small for them. Cardinals often feed from the ground, so if cats or other predators aren’t present, you may consider a ground feeder for these birds.
Cardinals eat a variety of foods: sunflower seed, safflower seed, cracked corn, suet, suet mixtures, peanut hearts, peanuts and nutmeats of all kinds. Try Cardinal Delight, a seed Duncraft formulated especially for these birds. They also like melon seeds, pieces of raisins and banana and even cornbread.
If you want to set up a feeder for just cardinals and maybe some small birds such as chickadees, try setting your feeder in the midst of a bush or shrub. Cardinals nest in bushes and they love to eat in a secluded place. Replicating a cardinals’ preferred habitat by your feeding set-up is one way to keep them coming back and also discourages other large birds, such as doves and pigeons. These birds are too large to use a feeder that’s located in the middle of a lot of branches!
Water also plays a very important part in attracting cardinals and other birds, both in summer and winter. So be sure to have a bird bath filled with fresh water if there isn’t a natural water source nearby.
If you are lucky enough to have more than one pair of cardinals at your feeding station, you may see one or two males trying to keep all the others from the feeding tray. This is very common among finches – the family of birds to which the cardinal belongs. However, sooner or later every one gets its turn. Even the male cardinal who won’t let his mate eat with him all winter eventually relents. When spring comes he begins to regard his mate in a new light. Instead of chasing her from the feeding tray, he now begins to offer her shucked sunflower seeds and other choice tidbits. When the cardinals have their young they will bring them to the feeder and teach them how to feed themselves.

WE PROMISE AND GUARANTEE
To put client interests before our own. As an Exclusive Buyer’s Broker: No conflict of interest. No steering towards or away from in-house listings. No representing sellers. No listings. No hidden fees or profits. Unlike many, we don’t have in-house loans, escrows or have a hand in making money off of providing title services. We always want the freedom to recommend the best services and most competitive rates for our clients—and we do. This can result in savings of hundreds to thousands of dollars for our buyers.
To earn our fees, and make nothing if we cannot perform. We charge no up-front fees, no advance fees, and no transaction fees. In 99% of the case, the seller or bank-owned servicer pays our normal buyer-side real estate commissions. We openly disclose what are being paid on each property including any selling broker bonuses that may be offered on certain properties. We pay for all our home finding costs, (gasoline, computer programs, search radar fees, printing, ink/paper, etc.) and still search for ways to save our clients both time and money.
To skillfully negotiate on our client’s behalf. For the buyer, we work hard to package financing, pricing and timing to create a successful transition into their new home. We strive to maintain our reputation for “Masterpiece Transactions.”
To expertly manage your transaction from beginning to end. This will include the coordination of appraisers, inspectors, insurance underwriters, escrow demands, disclosures, legal requirements and the other unexpected events to come with the territory.

Greg Holder serves as Lead Pastor at
The Crossings Church in Chesterfield, MO.
A really big small church At first, the concept of Windsor Crossing Community Church ("The Crossing") began with just a handful of folks in a living room with a common vision; to create a church where people’s lives are radically changed through Jesus Christ in radical ways. A place where they could bravely ask even the most basic questions about God without feeling out of place. While the number of people has grown beyond the limits of a living room, the vision has never strayed—It’s only gotten more interesting. The Crossing has become more than just a “place”. It’s a community that’s fresh, real, raw, alive and committed to telling an ancient story to break through even the most hardened of hearts.
By using unconventional teaching methods and various art mediums and technology, The Crossing creates experiences rooted in scripture that are both culturally relevant and deeply personal. Focusing less on a “demographic” and more on a state of mind, the pallet at The Crossing spans every age, religious background (or none at all) and ethnic group. We are constantly mining new ways that encourage people to explore, experience and express who God is and how His teaching can foster real change in people’s lives.
The Crossing has become more than just a “place”.
It’s a community that’s fresh, real, raw, alive and committed to telling an ancient story to break through even the most hardened of hearts.
The Crossing is constantly mining new ways that encourage people to explore, experience and express who God is and how His teaching can foster real change in people’s lives.
The key to harmony in the church is to be united in purpose. Recognizing that we come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, it is only natural for us to have a variety of ideas of how we actually serve Christ in the context of this local church.
How do I get to The Crossing's campus in Chesterfield? Our Chesterfield campus is located at 114 North Eatherton Road in Chesterfield, MO, a suburb west of St. Louis. To get here from St. Louis, take Hwy 40/64 West into the Chesterfield valley and take the Long Road exit. Take a right at the stop light onto Chesterfield Airport Road, where you'll be traveling west again. Continue west until you pass the entrance to Spirit Airport on your left and to the next stop light. Turn left here onto Olive Street and continue past Rombach's Pumpkin Farm as this road turns into Eatherton Road. Windsor Crossing's driveway, which is shared by The Landings golf course, is on the left before the railroad tracks and bluffs.

Something each Buyer should consider:
In the case of SNIDER v. OKLAHOMA REAL ESTATE COMMISSION, June 1, 1999
The OKLAHOMA SUPREME COURT said:
"Sellers' agents and dual agents do not and cannot by law give a buyer the same degree of loyalty as an agent who acts on behalf of a buyer. Sellers' agents owe their allegiance to the seller. Dual agency invites a conflict of interest. A buyer who relies on the seller's agent or on dual agency does not receive the same degree of legal protection as that afforded by an agent acting solely on behalf of the buyer".
